Baywatch the Removie

She famously got the tattoo done for her first big leading role, but now Pamela Anderson’s barbed wire ring tattoo around her arm is practically non-existent. The former Baywatch babe is going through the process of laser tattoo removal to remove the artwork around her left bicep, which she had done in 1995 just before she started filming the hit movie, Barb Wire. Now the mother-of-two is on track to be tattoo-free and will soon be able to wear her favorite revealing clothes again, like the stunning white dress that she wore at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas recently – without a rude reminder of her past mistakes on show. The actress reportedly believes that the tattoo will become an ‘eyesore’ as she gets older. A friend of hers revealed: ‘Pamela is now seeing the effects of age and hard living on her body. She feels that her tattoos are going to become eyesores so has decided on laser tattoo removal to roll back the years’ ‘She’s not a young woman anymore. She doesn’t want nasty looking ink all over her arms.’ Pamela has also made it quite clear that she was not going through the laser tattoo removal treatment to prove she’s a ‘good mother’: she has been quoted as saying‘People with tattoos aren’t any less of a parent.’ Laser tattoo removal treatment often lasts months, depending on the size of the tattoo and the ink used. ‘It will undoubtedly cost you more than the original tattoo,’ says consultant plastic surgeon Darren Goult, who has even had some patients come into his clinic on the way back from the tattoo studio, pleading with him to remove their unwanted body art. At the time she got her tattoo, Pamela couldn’t have been happier with the design. The actress had the barbed wire design inked onto her skin just before her interview with the LA Times in July 1995, as she prepared herself for her first leading role as Barb Wire, a motorcycle-riding bounty hunter, based on the famous comic book character of the same name. ‘The make-up artists initially said that they were going to paint this on my arm every day,’ Pamela explained, ‘but I decided to have a tattoo artist sketch it onto me and I wore it around for a half a day or so, just to see how it looked on me. ‘I decided I’d just go ahead and get it done. I love it. I think it’s a very feminine design for barbed wire.’ She added, ‘I guess I just love tattoos – look at my husband,’ as Anderson was married to her inked to the brink husband, rock star drummer Tommy Lee of the infamous Motley Crue. She also once had his name tattooed onto her wedding finger, but after they divorced she had it changed to ‘Mommy’. Pamela Anderson also has a floral-like tattoo design inked up her spine, although at this moment in time has no plans on using laser tattoo removal to rid herself of this particular design.
